REPLACING ELMO RIETSCHLE VTN 16 CARBON VANES

The Elmo Rietschle VTN 16 uses six carbon vanes. Inspect all six during servicing and replace the complete set when required. Each new vane measures 55 × 39 × 4 mm. Check the existing vanes for chipping, fractures, uneven contact marks and excessive wear. Before installing new vanes, inspect: ✓ Rotor and rotor slots
✓ Cylinder wall and running surfaces
✓ Bearings and rotor condition
✓ Inlet and exhaust filtration
✓ Carbon dust and loose fragments
✓ Signs of overheating or uneven wear
Important: If a vane has fractured, remove all fragments and carbon debris. Inspect the cylinder wall, rotor slots and internal surfaces, and investigate the cause before fitting a new set.
