REPLACING BECKER VT 3.3 CARBON VANES

The Becker VT 3.3 is a dry-running rotary vane vacuum pump which relies on five carbon vanes moving freely within the rotor to generate vacuum. These vanes are wearing components and require periodic inspection and replacement. The VT 3.3 uses five WN 124-183 replacement carbon vanes, corresponding to Becker OEM reference 90136100005. During operation, the carbon vanes gradually lose height through contact with the cylinder running surface. Clean the rotor slots using the appropriate maintenance method and check that the replacement vanes move freely within them. Each vane should slide smoothly into its rotor slot without binding. A sticking vane should never be forced into place, as this may indicate contamination or damage requiring attention.
