REPLACING ELMO RIETSCHLE VTA 60 CARBON VANES

The Elmo Rietschle VTA 60 uses four carbon vanes. All four should be inspected together during routine maintenance and replaced as a complete set when required.
Each new vane measures 100 × 52 × 5 mm. When replacing the vanes, inspect the condition of the rotor, rotor slots and internal cylinder surface.
When the pump is opened, check:
✓ Rotor and rotor slots
✓ Cylinder wall condition
✓ Bearings
✓ Inlet and exhaust filtration
✓ Carbon dust and debris
✓ Unusual wear patterns or damaged vanes
Important: If a vane has chipped or broken, remove all fragments and carbon debris and inspect the cylinder wall before installing replacements. Fitting new vanes without investigating the cause of failure can result in further damage.
