REPLACING ELMO RIETSCHLE VTA 80 CARBON VANES

The Elmo Rietschle VTA 80 uses four carbon vanes. All four should be inspected together during maintenance and replaced as a complete set when required. Each new vane measures 130 × 52 × 5 mm. Inspect the existing vanes for wear, fractures, chipping and uneven contact marks before replacement. When the pump is opened, check: ✓ Rotor and rotor slots
✓ Cylinder wall and internal running surfaces
✓ Bearings and rotor condition
✓ Inlet and exhaust filtration
✓ Carbon dust and loose fragments
✓ Signs of overheating or uneven wear
Important: If a vane has chipped or fractured, remove all fragments and carbon debris. Inspect the cylinder wall and identify the cause of the failure before installing a new set.
