Carbon vanes are wearing components in dry-running Rietschle rotary vane pumps and compressors and should be inspected as part of planned pump maintenance. When replacing Rietschle 513455 vanes, check the pump model to ensure the correct quantity is fitted. It is also good practice to inspect the pump for other signs of wear or damage, including: ✓ Rotor and rotor shaft condition
✓ Rotor slots
✓ Internal pump surfaces
✓ Bearings
✓ Inlet filter condition
✓ Signs of overheating or contamination inside the pump
Replacing worn vanes without investigating abnormal wear or internal pump damage may result in reduced vane life and continued pump performance problems.

VacAir supplies replacement vacuum pump vanes, spare parts and technical support to OEMs, distributors, maintenance engineers, service companies and end users throughout the UK and internationally.
Unlike many online vane suppliers, we do far more than simply supply replacement carbon vanes. Our team works with vacuum pumps every day and understands the pumps the vanes operate in. We can help identify the correct components from pump models, part numbers and vane dimensions, as well as discuss questions about poor pump performance, premature vane wear or vane failure. Where vanes have worn unusually or broken, our experience can also help identify possible causes and advise on checks that may help prevent the same problem occurring again.
We supply a wide range of vacuum pump spare parts alongside our replacement vane range, providing customers with a single source for routine maintenance, repairs and replacement components.
Our modern vacuum pump repair and refurbishment workshop provides experienced engineering support, while our field engineers provide servicing and repair support to customers throughout the UK.
Our Price Promise reflects the same approach we have taken to replacement vanes for decades: supplying the correct vane, at a competitive price, backed by genuine vacuum pump knowledge and technical support. If you find an equivalent replacement vane available for less, speak to us and give us the opportunity to review the price.
Rietschle 513455 replacement carbon vanes measure 60 × 31 × 4 mm. The same size vane is used across several Rietschle dry-running rotary vane pump models, with the number of vanes fitted varying according to the pump model.
Rietschle 513455 carbon vanes are used in the DLT 10, TL 10, TLD 10, TLD 12, TLV 10, TR 10 and VTN 10. These models use the same 60 × 31 × 4 mm carbon vane, although the quantity required is not the same for every pump.
Rietschle DLT 10, TL 10, TLD 10, TLD 12, TLV 10 and VTN 10 pumps use 6 × 513455 carbon vanes. The Rietschle TR 10 uses 7 × 513455 vanes. All of these applications use the same 60 × 31 × 4 mm vane; it is the set quantity that differs.
Rietschle carbon vanes may have the manufacturer’s part number marked on the vane, which can provide a useful way of identifying the correct replacement. If your existing vane is marked 513455, check the pump model and confirm the vane dimensions are 60 × 31 × 4 mm. If you are unsure, VacAir can help identify the correct vane before you order.
Replacing the vanes is also an opportunity to inspect the condition of the pump. Checks can include the rotor and rotor shaft, rotor slots, internal pump surfaces, bearings and inlet filter, together with signs of contamination, overheating or abnormal wear. If the old vanes show unusual wear or damage, it is worth investigating why before simply installing a new set.
Carbon vane wear is normal during service, but premature wear, uneven wear or broken vanes can indicate that something else within the pump or its operating conditions needs attention. The condition of the rotor slots, internal surfaces, bearings, filtration and signs of contamination or overheating can all be relevant when investigating a vane problem. VacAir can discuss the symptoms with you and help identify the areas that should be checked before replacement vanes are fitted.
Yes. VacAir is more than a replacement vane supplier; we work with vacuum pumps every day and understand the pumps the vanes operate in. If your Rietschle pump has lost vacuum or performance, or you are concerned about vane wear or failure, our team can discuss the symptoms and help determine what should be checked. Workshop repair and servicing support is also available where required.
Yes. VacAir provides vacuum pump servicing, vane replacement, fault investigation and workshop repair. If you would prefer the 513455 vanes to be professionally fitted, or the pump requires further investigation because of poor performance or damaged vanes, contact our team to discuss the pump and the work required.
