REPLACING BECKER WN 124-031 CARBON VANES
The Becker WN 124-031 replacement carbon vane is used in several Becker DVT, KDT and KVT dry-running rotary vane pumps. During normal operation, carbon vanes gradually wear against the cylinder surface, reducing their remaining height. Regular inspection helps engineers identify wear before it affects pump performance or causes internal damage.
New WN 124-031 vanes measure 240 × 48 × 4 mm, with an original height of 48 mm and a minimum wear height of 31 mm. Inspect each vane for remaining height, edge damage, cracks and uneven wear. The rotor slots and cylinder should also be examined, particularly where a vane has fractured or the pump has suffered an unexplained reduction in performance.
Correct replacement quantity is important. Becker OEM reference 90133400004 identifies the four-vane quantity used in the KDT 2.140, KDT 3.140, KVT 2.140 and KVT 3.140 pumps.
