The carbon vanes move in the rotor slots during operation and gradually wear down. A new vane is 27 mm high; the CLFT 41 minimum working height is 22 mm. Check vane condition and height during servicing rather than waiting for a breakdown.
Although the CLFT 41 and CLFT 40 use the same 190 × 27 × 4 mm vane and both need eight, the VFT 40 uses only four. The CLFT 41 wear limit shown here is model-specific and should not be assumed for other pumps.

RIETSCHLE CLFT 41 VANE INSPECTION & REPLACEMENT

For a Rietschle CLFT 41, inspect all eight carbon vanes during scheduled maintenance. Measure their remaining height and examine the pump interior for carbon dust, scoring and any evidence of broken or sticking vanes. The 190 × 27 × 4 mm replacement vanes have a new height of 27 mm. The CLFT 41 has a 22 mm minimum working height; damaged, cracked or unevenly worn vanes may require attention before that limit is reached.
